Pamplona, Spain

In my humble opinion, Pamplona has as robust a personality as the bullfighting tradition it has hosted since the late 16th century. The race itself is held in July and is only about a half mile! We had a local guide named Leo take us on a fascinating saunter through town, along the same path the bulls actually run during the summer.  We had the chance to visit a gallery of sorts that hands down has the most bullfighting memorabilia I've ever seen. It was quite something. Cozy shops surround many of the city squares, where I couldn't help but help myself to some all-important ice cream. I also discovered a love of pintxos; the Basque word for tapas.
